Erie Fresh Edible Greenhouse Garden Update
SANDUSKY, OH - This past weekend – 07/11/09 – Erie Fresh and a group of volunteers joined to place signage around the Erie Fresh Edible Garden, located at the Sandusky City Greenhouse. The signs are meant to enlighten the community about the efforts that have been made by citizens and Erie Fresh to provide sustainable solutions for social, environmental and economic setbacks occurring within Sandusky.

From the right: volunteer Clarence Gilbert and Lauren Berlekamp of Erie Fresh. Mr. Gilbert constructed the frame for the signs from donated lumber.
Erie Fresh expects to begin harvesting vegetables from the garden on the upcoming Saturday, and encourages anyone who’s interested in learning more about the project to attend during volunteer hours (3p to 7p).

I encourage everyone reading this story to get involved with this. What a great group of energetic young people doing great things for the community
Great work by all, and the need to supply food for those who need is most is a noble idea and a practical one. Let’s keep caring alive in our community as well as our plants.
